How do I get vaseline stains off furnitures?

Q. My son wiped off his hand on our chair that's cream and he had vaseline on. Now his little hand print is on there. Any good remedy for stubborn stains?

A. sure, blame it on the kid.

But, Take a plastic knife or a butter knife and scrape over the stained area. Bring up as much of the Vaseline as possible.

Nest, use a paper towel or a cloth, wet the cloth with rubbing alcohol and dab at the stained area. You will see a glossy coating and the alcohol will break down the oils in the Vaseline to remove it. Continue this at least three or four times and then go to the next step, as you might not be able to see all the stain when it is wet.

Make a spray mixture of one-cup warm water and a tablespoon of clear bleach free dish liquid. Spray this on the stained area and blot with a clean paper towel to bring up more of the Vaseline.

If you still have a stain, spray the area with peroxide and let it dry. This will break up the stain further. Repeat as needed, letting the fabric dry between applications to completely remove any remaining stains.

What color furniture goes best with brown walls?

Q. My friend and I are moving out soon and we need to furnish the place; we're on a budget though as only one of us works and we're starting school soon. I'm not sure what color drapes, couch and whatever else to get. It's a warm brown and not too dark. Help? Thank you!

A. Go with earth tones. I.e. creme, light blue, etc. Then add pillows for each season. I.e. orange for harvest, red for Christmas. Go to garage sales on the weekend to find fun knick knacks to also accent. Whatever you do, have fun with it. make it you. make it comfy.

Where can I get the good deals for furnitures?

Q. I need everything for a new house. Probably, I would like to have long-lasting and traditional ones. I want to actually see and feel them before I buy any, so I won't order or purchase on-line. Thanks!

A. Try Ashley Homestores.....They have nice traditional furniture at reasonable prices....

What furniture color goes good with light purple walls?

Q. I recently painted a room light purple, like a lilac color. I was wondering what kind of furniture would look good with that? Like an iron, white wood, some other form of metal, or what kind of bed would look good and compliment the color. Any ideas would be wonderful, open to anything!

A. What instantly popped into my mind was sleek mission style furniture in an ebony finish like this: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.grandfurnituregallery.com/images/T/bb45-553-05.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.bedroom-furniture-stores.com/grandfurniture/Mission_Oak_Five_Drawer_Chest,470433321.php&usg=__mJR2ZmApmKmk6hCHQJ6V1hJV_8c=&h=1000&w=1000&sz=113&hl=en&start=12&zoom=1&tbnid=edt_LkSbmDTbWM:&tbnh=119&tbnw=120&prev=/images%3Fq%3Debony%2Bmission%2Bstyle%2Bbedroom%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3Dqzj%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26biw%3D1274%26bih%3D560%26tbs%3Disch:10%2C384&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=287&vpy=148&dur=1680&hovh=225&hovw=225&tx=114&ty=119&ei=mmYUTdPnCcGqlAequrzgDA&oei=kGYUTeLuJMP98AbzkI3IDQ&esq=2&page=2&ndsp=22&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:12&biw=1274&bih=560 or even this: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://metaldoublebed.net/images/metaldoublebed/image5.jpg&imgrefurl=http://metaldoublebed.net/&usg=__yTqonUTxo4en-5glFK-d6oeDaSw=&h=300&w=300&sz=25&hl=en&start=12&zoom=1&tbnid=mf4kUzqZjwwJOM:&tbnh=119&tbnw=119&prev=/images%3Fq%3Debony%2Bmission%2Bstyle%2Bbedroom%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3Dqzj%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26biw%3D1274%26bih%3D560%26tbs%3Disch:10%2C384&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=430&ei=mmYUTdPnCcGqlAequrzgDA&oei=kGYUTeLuJMP98AbzkI3IDQ&esq=2&page=2&ndsp=22&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:12&tx=82&ty=57&biw=1274&bih=560
