Are furnitures sold with homes have good quality?

Q. Are furnitures sold with homes have good quality?
I recently bought a home and it's sold with furnitures and I was wondering if the furnitures should be replaced or kept. And to decide, I would like to know if the furnitures have good quality to them.

A. Normally it's not very good furniture. More for looks than actual use.

What furniture color goes good with light purple walls?

Q. I recently painted a room light purple, like a lilac color. I was wondering what kind of furniture would look good with that? Like an iron, white wood, some other form of metal, or what kind of bed would look good and compliment the color. Any ideas would be wonderful, open to anything!

How about the rattan furnitures for home decorating?

I think it is very beautiful.

A. I am not sure which pieces you are interested in, but the whole line is very beautiful. I really like the rocking chair and the chairs are cute.

How do I get vaseline stains off furnitures?

Q. My son wiped off his hand on our chair that's cream and he had vaseline on. Now his little hand print is on there. Any good remedy for stubborn stains?

A. sure, blame it on the kid.

But, Take a plastic knife or a butter knife and scrape over the stained area. Bring up as much of the Vaseline as possible.

Nest, use a paper towel or a cloth, wet the cloth with rubbing alcohol and dab at the stained area. You will see a glossy coating and the alcohol will break down the oils in the Vaseline to remove it. Continue this at least three or four times and then go to the next step, as you might not be able to see all the stain when it is wet.

Make a spray mixture of one-cup warm water and a tablespoon of clear bleach free dish liquid. Spray this on the stained area and blot with a clean paper towel to bring up more of the Vaseline.

If you still have a stain, spray the area with peroxide and let it dry. This will break up the stain further. Repeat as needed, letting the fabric dry between applications to completely remove any remaining stains.

What color furniture would look best in a white apartment?

Q. I'm moving into a new apartment in a couple of weeks, and I'm going to go buy a bunch of new furniture. But I'm not too sure as to what color furniture (sofa, tables, dinette, etc.) I should get. What will go good with an apartment with walls that are white, and carpet that is sort of a "dirty" white, but white nonetheless.

Right now I'm thinking the obvious black but what do you think?

A. Since white is a neautral color any color will go with it . That is why most rentals walls are painted white . Choose furniture that reflect your personnality. Do you like modern or country??? The main thing is that you get furniture that you like and that you are comfortable with. . Have a fun time shopping and congrats on your move.

Can custom furniture be made smaller after it is finished?

Q. We had a sofa and 2 chairs custom made. They are beautiful but the backs are too tall for our home. We just realized it after they were delivered today. They are upholstered, NOT slipcovered. Can the backs be cut about 4" and reupholstered?

A. yes but as you know it will cost you a good penny once a custom job is done the maker hates going back and making changes after the finish product. 1. they don't have any more of the upholstery.2. now its more time spent on a finish product. you should check with the maker some wont do it unless they remake the whole thing. good luck.
